Greetings! My name is Reece T. Williams.

I recently graduated from the University at Albany with a B.A. in journalism. I mention the degree because there are quite a few Bachelor of Science programs in the subject. At the moment, I’m in a bit of a transitional period. I’ve been freelance reporting, photographing, and blogging. It’s been fun, but I would love the opportunity to be a meaningful part of a staff, even if that role is one of a “recurring writer.”

The summer before my senior year, I worked as a Features intern for the Times Union in Albany, covering all things food, art, music, and culture in New York’s Capital Region.

This past summer, I was admitted to the Knight CUNY J Summer Fellowship program – a diversity initiative orchestrated by the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism, and funded by the Knight Foundation. The program selects 20 interns of minority race, and pairs them as interns with publications throughout New York City. I worked on the breaking news desk at the New York Daily News, which gave me an opportunity to really hone my breaking news (and tabloid) chops: writing quicker, hard news stories, and asking people in high places difficult questions.

Please take a few minutes to read click through my portfolio. And I look forward to our getting in touch!
